JD Ferdinand

Cinematic stories about power, memory, identity, faith, ambition, family, and the quiet moments where people reveal who they really are.

About

JD Ferdinand is a Brooklyn-based writer and director creating emotionally precise, visually controlled films with psychological tension and spiritual undercurrents. This image captures a personal moment, reflecting his grounded approach to filmmaking and life.

His work explores the systems people live inside — family, race, faith, labor, class, memory, and power — and the private transformations that happen beneath the surface.

Drawing from cinema, music, and lived experience, JD approaches filmmaking through rhythm, silence, gesture, and atmosphere. His stories often center characters navigating pressure, invisibility, ambition, and moral awakening.

He is currently developing new work at the intersection of psychological drama, social thriller, and art-house cinema.
